Moving On...

I've been severely afflicted with Vestibular Neuritis for over 1 year.  While I've made truly measurable recoveries, I'm still not balanced.  You might not think this neuritis is a big deal, but I have had to learn how to walk, use a computer (type, entry, point, etc.) all over again.  Patience is indeed a virtue.  For the last few months, I have been able to walk again without using a walker or sticks to aid me.  Thanks to physical therapy, I can now walk forwards, backwards, and turn around - all without falling over.  I go walking for about 1 hour every day in my neighborhood, practicing exercises I learned during physical therapy, and it really helps.  I've gotten back my sense of humor. (yea!), and inspiration to paint again.  Being able to go out and about and be with other people especially in our local arts scene is great!  Day to day encounters with the public can still be difficult - you can't believe how people push, bump hard, etc., and it's these kinds of motions that literally throw me.  So I have slowed down a lot.   And I have great gratitude that I am still on the right side of the dirt!

Oh GOD, Linda!!! I am so amazed at your progress and grateful! I've been experiencing a big set-back in my own life/energy/art myself. Since January, incredible debilitating bursitis AND in April, I got Shingles, which I STILL have (the pain and some residual rash/scare)... I am fatigued most days and can't schedule very much to do per day. I am SICK of this...(but what can one do but go through it?) SO glad I didn't attempt Open Studios this year...felt I needed a break (of course I DID get accepted for the Featured artist along with Johanna McCormick--exhibit subject: horses, of course!). SO, I DO have to get ready for that and am PRAYING this Shingles is over by July... I am excited that you are back to your painting and love your video re: processing. I want to do that with my photography, but haven't attempted it yet...maybe that will be a goal. Oh, and I've got blurry vision in my right eye...physical therapy (for hip pain) and another eye exam check are scheduled...enough of my whining...thanks for your shoulder!!!XO
